Next ACUE Summer School in Nottingham is 8-9-10 Sept 2005.
We are considering an ACUE Easter break for a long Yachting weekend in Western Ireland in April.

Newcomers and migrants to ArchiCAD will have their eyes opened to techniques that they may not have dared to tackle alone. Intermediates will have their skills polished; experts will be able to meet other experts and enhance their skills and committment; and super experts have the opportunity to present power solutions to fellow delegates. Above all, it's great to meet people who are so strongly committed to the culture, and many lasting friendships and working relationships result. Every ACU event has a strong tribal community feel.
Many of the workshop presenters have been beta testers for ArchiCAD Nine for some time now and will be hoping to include mentions of it in the workshops.

This year, ACUE 2004 is the scene of 6 premieres, including ArchiCAD NINE!

  • Not just a training event! : it's to Arouse your Awareness of the possible and make probable what you thought was impossible.
  • Not just a sales event! :real users of ArchiCAD and the other applications show ways to get the most out of it.

ArchiCAD University includes a packed program of workshops and plenaries, with a chance to hear and meet with leading ArchiCAD users; also, delegates will have access to the swimming pool and sports facilities of the University, including a green and pleasant campus for joggers. Graphisoft are attending the event, but it is not sponsored by them or anybody else: it is a non-profit event, entirely user funded and user managed. There is an email-based committee of regular attenders and tutors who help to formulate the programme.

ArchiCAD University Europe started in 1998, and it has grown in successive years, attracting ever increasing numbers of home and overseas participants. ACUE Sept 2003 had 100 participants all under one roof in Nottingham. We have also had two ACUE Winter Schools on Feuerkogel mountain near Salzburg, Austria for a week in January 2003 and 2004, a magical combination of winter sports with evening learning sessions - and we will repeat this in 2005. We held a very successful ACUWest in Los Angeles in March 2004, modelled on the Summer School format, organised entirely by Duane Valencia and his California team and likely to happen again in 2005.

For the ACUE programme, we combine a choice filled mixture of Plenary sessions with practical Workshop sessions. There are refreshment breaks allowing people time to interact and continue discussions started during the workshops.

ArchiCAD University is held on the beautiful campus of the University of Nottingham. By arranging it on a Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday, you get three days of action but only lose a day and a half from the working week, and you still have one day left of your weekend before you are back at work. For travellers from afar, advice is available by email and on this site for travel arrangements in the UK. Delegates are encouraged to bring spouses who can enjoy the touristic pleasures of Nottinghamshire and the city of Nottingham. Special accommodation and food rates are available, including for Wednesday night, or Saturday night stayover. There is also a party in town on Saturday night for stayovers, so that overseas delegates can travel home on Sunday or Monday. We shall be eating at Antibo's in Nottingham.

There will be a 'Vendor Desk' open throughout the event for advice on using Archicad, the contents of the workshops, and for making or ordering small purchases, lost property, bag deposit, training questions etc.
