The Intelligent Building Model: Half Plenary
Howard Gill, of Bite Design www.bite.co.uk

  • The change from legacy systems to the intelligent building model can be a long and painful process without total commitment and a belief in its success. There is so much more we can do right now and the development of additional solutions has only just started.

In a few years we will not be able to recognise the design processes we use at present.
Draughting systems will be banished and users will become managers of the design process and the built form.

The ArchiCAD model is the source of all knowledge.

Use it from day one to develop design intent :

  • design content and standards
  • the design and its environs

Building the site and existing structures

Dealing with low level legacy data (DWG files)

Showing your understanding of the process to the client

Design concepts and development.

  • the communication of ideas directly to team members and to interested parties and to the public.

Design Development and the coordination of consultants data – even down to that 2D data that they love so much.

Interrogation of design elements

Phasing of construction, protection of site for demolition, temporary access routes, truck access, etc

An hour and a half review of the capabilities of this great software using all the tools available today and looking to the future solutions.
