GDL-objects, that fulfill "real-life" functions in general and specially in detail drawings. One way is to do these details yourself... or let the producer of the building element do that for you! – so-called "reallife-objects" will satisfy both, the producer (for choosing his product) and the designer/architect having less work and more accurate detailled drawings. It is necessary that every single ArchiCAD user requests more usable library parts from the industry. (have a look at http://www.realobjekte.at) "the community should ask for those objects too (as a strong voice)" Graphisoft itself should do that too. Projects in real/full 3D space, both using storeys and section/elevations during the whole design and production process. Only 1/3 of the group members does. The other way is just doing a lot of .pln-drawings for sections and elevations - extra file management needed!! Which leads us to... |
File
management/systems and office standards: most of the group do have
internal standards - but it’s hard to have control about during
a design-process. Maybe Layoutbook within Plotmaker 3 will help in this
case. Only 1/3 of the goup is still using Plotmaker. managing different
files and file-formats leads us to the topic of...
File exchange / hotlink modules need to become quicker and need to have better control to the Virtual Building. Comments about the hotlinkk modules show that there is a need for more training - how to use the linking-techniques, how to set the modules - build up the right structure that it will be helpful insdead of confusing. There was a request for learning much more about handling different file formats (DXF, DWG, IFC). Some tried to use IFC to share project files with external consultants (mainly building engineers, HVAC). In the case of DXF/DWG data there has to be a good office standard and communication to the consultant!!! |
